Operations Strategy Recalibration: Aligning manufacturing performance to the business strategy

The project was born out of the need to increase low process yields that were thought to be due to the employees’ poor performance.

A thorough analysis of the manufacturing processes revealed the presence of systemic problems, a weakness in the area’s standard operating procedures, poor training, and insufficient teamwork, which led to frequent misunderstandings among operators.

The introduction of 5S and TPM standards was instrumental to establishing a work discipline that reduced friction and re-focused human energy on the solution of their most frequent and annoying problems.
